Los perros de Buenos Aires

2008-04-15

Suddenly there are thirty dogs in shiny red capes walking around in one of the districts of Buenos Aires.
The architects behind this visual improvement are visiondivision, but they haven’t done this merely for their own sake, the project is about improvement of these animals.

With a classy scarf with a name printed on them, we baptized the dogs we came across, gave them food and a personal red plate.
Hopefully the people around them will be more aware of these dogs and be more kind and generous towards them, and the Barrio will have the most prominent stray dogs of South America.

The project started out in Once in Buenos Aires, which is the garment district of the city.We chose a proper shiny fabric and had it cut up in 75x75 cm squares, 40 pieces.

Then we made up a bunch of classy Argentinean dog names and had those printed on the fabric with a rubber technique in a printing shop nearby.

After that we went to a shop where they attached buttons on the scarves.

We signed them and had them on a display in a local mall, and then we practised to speed-button the scarves on Argentina’s national monument, The Obelisk in the smack centre of Buenos Aires on the widest avenue in the world.

We also bought plates in matching colours.

Only the best ham was selected and also some high quality dog food.

So this is how it works: We went to the outskirts of Buenos Aires and selected a stray dog, gave him food on a red plate and then we put on a scarf with a suitable name on the dog.
By giving a nameless dog a name and some fancy threads, the chances is that the public will be more aware of just that dog and continue to feed him and treat him better.

Our trustful assistant Pablo shows the proper way of attaching the scarf. The very first dog of becoming baptized was Mercedes, a dog full of energy and charm.

Weiss, kind and calm.

Evita, a curious dog with a limp.

Bronco & Nestor, hard to get friends with at first.

Palermo & Ricky.

Bartolomé.

Juan Esteban.

Piti.

Dr. Faustino, seemed nice at first.

Don, a nearly blind dog.

Bruno, fast as the lightning. Some locals helped us baptize this one.

Carlos.

Franz Paco.
Lola, likes to chase cars.
Pancho.
Carmencita.

Fort Lola

2008-04-12

Second try in Granada for our picky clients.
The Postcard House was not "Spanish" enough.

The client wanted a dream house in the south of Spain that at the same time could be turned into an invisible fort when they client is not there.
Passing the house on the nearby road one will only see a garage. If you would accidentally walk pass the hidden garden you will see a façade with a flower patterned mesh.

The client will experience a totally different house. Inside the garage there is a spiral staircase leading down to a big living room, and as the mesh is flipped into sun protecting panes, the panoramic view towards the surrounding mountains will appear from all the social rooms and the bedrooms. The bathrooms are located towards the hill and will have a cave-like appearance

Villa Snigel

2008-03-31
Visiondivision designs a villa for a young couple in the Swedish countryside.
Its easy to build, still with unique features that just cant be anyone except visiondivision.

This house was designed with two main aspects in mind;
That the nature on the site should be present while you’re inside the house and that it should be easy and cheap to construct.
To get optimal variations of views from the house, we made a slender house along the stream.
To walk around in the house will also be a walk through the most beautiful parts of the site.

The house will be so easy to construct so that two persons alone can construct the main parts of the house.
Some parts of a building process needs special competence, for example the making of the foundation, these parts have we given a special treatment to give the house a unique character.
The plinths will be like terraces, each one adapting to the site and the functions that is desired on them.
The plinths also continue up in the house to become furniture, door mats and such.
Outside they contain a garage, an outdoor pool, a crayfish entrapment device.
To give the outside parts a careful treatment, the beautiful nature on the site comes forward and the client gets a variety of interesting outdoor rooms for an inexpensive price.

The façade is clad with glossy, white varnished plywood boards.

The rubber plinth lengthens the room in both directions and brings the nature closer.

With lighting in the tree tops, the client gets a luxurious outdoor space using simple means.

Postcard House

2008-03-19

Visiondivision got a commision to do a villa outside of Granada, Spain.
With a new groundbreaking concept, they hope that this one will turn into a true classic masterpiece.

The concept for this villa has its origin in the breathtaking views from the site over a mountain range and the ocean on the southern coast of Spain. We wanted to frame this view, improve it even further and treat it as a postcard, and also give our clients even more postcards to see and live their everyday life in.These postcards often get a double function, they become a great view for the room and you can also enter them and enjoy this quality space.

When one enter the house, such a postcard is visible in the far end of the kitchen; a big window pane where you can see an orange tree patio with orange mosaic as hardscape. These views are treated like classical paintings with foreground, motive and background. This makes it interesting to move around throughout the house because you always have something interesting to lay your eyes on.

If you turn your head towards the living room, you will see another painting. This one is showing the main terrace and the infinite pool in the foreground, the people who swims in it as the motive and with the mountains and the ocean view as the background.

The house has three floors with different characters and functions. The house has a logic layout but is at the same time complex. You can move around in the house in different ways both from the inside and the outside, which creates a lot of variation and interesting places.
A guesthouse is located at the entrance with a small kitchen, a bathroom and with a small patio.Postcard: The olive slopes
The first floor is the open, social space with the living room and the kitchen with access to an orange tree patio and to the big terrace with the infinite pool.Postcards: The Infinite pool, An orange tree patio, A harley davidson in a cactus hedge, A special fire place
The middle floor is for the children with a shared bathroom with a trampoline.A shaded patio is accessible from the children’s floor.Postcards: The trampoline, The playground
The top floor is a master suite for the parents with a fireplace and a moveable bathtub among other features. From the bathroom you have an ocean view and a door that leads to the roof terrace, where a 360 degree view of the whole landscape awaits.Postcards: Fire place from the bathtub, The 360 Degree view
Nighttime at the postcard house.

The three stories of the house shifts in size according to functions and views and is together combined into a strict composition. The material of the façade is white mosaic that reflects light and therefore subtly alters its colour and appearance according to the time of the day.
